The Lost Vape Centaurus M200 is presented through its 200 watts and its two batteries. Product listings stop there. Yet a mod vaporises nothing on its own, and the bottle you pour into its tank matters as much as its top output. You still need to know which tank, which coils and which base ratio belong together.

Centaurus M200, the short answer on e-liquid

The Centaurus M200 does not call for any particular e-liquid. The atomiser screwed onto its 510 connector decides. With the Centaurus Sub Ohm tank offered in the kit and its UB Max coils, rated between 0.15 and 0.3 ohm for 40 to 100 watts, the right base is one rich in vegetable glycerine, from 30/70 to 20/80, with freebase nicotine rather than a nic salt.

A 50/50 remains an option if you fit a tighter-drawing tank with higher-resistance coils on the mod. The mod’s power range, which goes down to 5 watts, allows it.

The mod and its kit, what matters for the liquid

Lost Vape lists a mod adjustable from 5 to 200 watts, powered by two 18650 batteries that are not included and run by its Quest chip. Those figures say what the mod can deliver, not what to pour into it. For the liquid, only one detail on the kit’s listing really matters, the tank that comes with it.

The Centaurus Sub Ohm tank and its UB Max coils

According to several retailer listings, the kit pairs the mod with the Centaurus Sub Ohm tank. That tank, rather than the Centaurus M200 itself, sets the type of e-liquid to use.

Three coils built for direct-to-lung vaping

For the V2 version of the tank, Lost Vape lists three UB Max coils, all classed as DTL, meaning direct to lung, as summed up in the table below.

CoilResistanceRecommended power
UB Max X10.15 ohm80 to 100 W
UB Max X20.2 ohm60 to 80 W
UB Max X30.3 ohm40 to 60 W

Retailers repeat the 0.15, 0.2 and 0.3 ohm values word for word. The power ranges can vary from one coil edition to the next, which is why reading the box is worthwhile.

Capacity and filling

The maker’s sheet lists a 5 ml tank, with a 3 ml spare glass, and states that every TPD version is limited to 2 ml. In the UK, refillable tanks are capped at 2 ml, so the 2 ml TPD version is the one that complies. Filling is from the top, and so is the airflow. The body is made of SUS303 stainless steel, with a glass tube.

Choosing the PG/VG ratio for the Centaurus M200

The coil table holds the key. Low resistances driven at 40 to 100 watts call for a base that copes with the heat and keeps the wick well fed.

A glycerine-rich base for UB Max coils

On a Centaurus M200 running its original tank, a 30/70 or 20/80 base matches how UB Max coils work. Vegetable glycerine, being thicker, produces more vapour at high power, while a very thin base feeds the wick faster than the coil can vaporise it and can flood it, with gurgling as the result.

Our guide to the PG VG ratio covers these two opposite logics in detail. It also points out that the ratio on the label describes the base alone, before flavourings.

50/50 on another atomiser

The 510 connector means other atomisers can go on the mod. A tight-drawing tank with coils above one ohm works better with a 50/50 or a more PG-heavy base, at low power. In that case, the atomiser’s own manual is the reference, not the mod’s spec sheet.

Freebase or nic salt, and how often to refill

Nic salt liquids are formulated for modest wattages and higher-resistance coils, as our article on nic salt vs freebase nicotine explains. On UB Max coils driven at 60 or 80 watts, a nic salt delivers a disproportionate amount of nicotine with each puff. Freebase nicotine, added through a shot to a shortfill, suits this setup better.

The 2 ml TPD tank also empties faster at high power than on a tight draw. Keep an eye on the level, because a wick that runs dry at 80 watts gives an instant burnt taste.

What a nicotine shot does to the ratio

A large nicotine-free bottle is often topped up with a nicotine shot, which has its own base. In the UK, nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20 mg/ml and sold in containers of no more than 10 ml, so a shot is a 10 ml bottle at up to 20 mg/ml.

A worked example

Take a 50 ml shortfill in 30/70 and a 10 ml nicotine shot at 20 mg/ml in a 50/50 base. PG rises to 15 + 5 = 20 ml and VG to 35 + 5 = 40 ml, giving 60 ml in total. The final mix is therefore 33/67 rather than 30/70.

Nicotine strength in the mix is 10 × 20 ÷ 60, or about 3.3 mg/ml. Our article on the nic salt shot works through this kind of sum for other volumes.

Why the gap is acceptable

Moving from 30/70 to 33/67 does not change the nature of the base. On a Centaurus M200 used for direct-to-lung vaping, the liquid stays within the range that suits UB Max coils. The sum simply avoids assuming that a bottle sold as 20/80 stays that way once two shots go in.

FAQ

These five questions come up when preparing a first bottle for this mod.

Should the coil be changed when switching liquids?

It is not compulsory, but a coil that has already soaked up one liquid keeps part of its flavour. Moving from a fruity recipe to a dessert one on the same UB Max often leaves a trace for a few refills.

Why does the tank hold 2 ml when the spec sheet says 5 ml?

The 5 ml version is the maker’s standard version. The one sold in the UK is the TPD version, limited to 2 ml by the rules on refillable tanks. It needs filling more often, but it works the same way.

Can a very sweet e-liquid go in the Centaurus Sub Ohm tank?

Yes, but a recipe heavy in sugar or sucralose usually gunks up the wick faster. On coils driven at high power, an early burnt taste is often the sign.

Should a new UB Max coil be primed?

It is a sensible step for any new coil. Leave the filled tank to stand for a few minutes before the first puff, then start at the low end of the recommended range before working upwards.

Does the Centaurus M200 change how an e-liquid tastes?

The mod only supplies the power. The result depends on the coil, the chosen wattage and the tank’s airflow. The same recipe comes across warmer and denser at the top of the range than at the bottom.

The right e-liquid for a Centaurus M200

The choice comes down to a simple chain. The mod supplies power, the tank sets the coil and the coil sets the base. With UB Max coils from 0.15 to 0.3 ohm, a 30/70 to 20/80 base with freebase nicotine is the clear pick, allowing for the nicotine shot that nudges the mix slightly towards 50/50.

For a Centaurus M200 fitted with another atomiser, the same logic applies from that atomiser’s own coil. Whatever the kit, checking the ratio on a bottle before buying it remains the first useful step. For larger formats, see also our guide to 100ml e-liquid with nicotine.
